Let’s continue looking at Marc Allen’s ideas about money, and in particular how he believes it’s necessary to have what I would describe as a spiritual purpose behind the objective of wealth creation.
About Goals and The Spiritual Aspects Of Manifesting Reality
We covered in the previous post the idea that the foundation of successful manifestation is setting clear goals and intentions, and being able to visualize them clearly and in a way that supported with a high level of emotional energy – energy such as desire, or joy, or happiness,
Next, Marc describes the necessity of forming a plan to manifest each and every major goal. He emphasizes that isn’t a 40 page business plan, more a one or two page map of how you might achieve those goals.
You might have heard this many times, but the point about making a plan around how you can achieve your goal, and indeed, writing your goals down in the first place, is that by doing this, you’re sending a clear message to your subconscious mind – as well as, it might be said, to the universe and everyone else in it – about your intentions.
It’s a powerful thing to do. It gets the attention of the universe, that’s for sure. And of course it tests your commitment to your own ideas. Perhaps this is where your financial objectives need to be clarified.
The mind loves a clear unambiguous goal to work on, and if you can program it into your subconscious, then you’re way ahead of 90% of the people who claim to be trying to manifest a better life. (But beware – the brain can sabotage you too…)
Lesson three – spirituality
While Marc Allen’s book The Millionaire Course contains a lot of ideas and much detail, it’s worth pointing out that what he’s saying are lessons that have been repeated in many ways, many times, by many people.
The “Keys” which he offers in each chapter are the essence of success and achievement. They are the way in which you too can achieve success, and financial abundance in your life. Make no mistake about it, over the years the same ideas have been propagated in many different ways by different authors, but they all come down to the same thing.
What I like about Marc’s approach is that he makes business, vocation, purpose and destiny into a wonderfully spiritual journey which everyone can take if they choose to. And that includes the artists and the creative people among us, who may be just as interested in manifestation as the rest of us, but feel that perhaps their artistic bent denies them the opportunity to make money.
You see the thing is this: finding your vocation, and manifesting it will improve your life more quickly than almost anything.
Finding your vocation is a matter of finding your purpose, or perhaps, it’s really about expressing your purpose in a practical way that makes a difference to the world.
What would it be like, do you think, to discover your true individual purpose in life and then to live it?
That’s a profound question, but it’s an important one, perhaps the most important question of all, because nothing is more important to your happiness and fulfillment than living the vocation that you’ve been granted as part of your destiny.
If the idea of life purpose is confusing to you, ask yourself this question: what is your reason for being alive on this planet at this time in its history?
Of course that question is predicated on the assumption that it’s not a matter of chance alone that you are here right now.
So if you assume that you’ve been given unique talents and abilities to accomplish a particular purpose, discovering what it is, and then working towards it, will make your life very much simpler indeed.
That’s because whatever you do to work towards the achievement of your purpose, will be easy and graceful, regardless of the obstacles that stand in your way. You will, in short, be fulfilling your destiny.
Inevitably, when you’re fulfilling your destiny, the manifestation of abundance, happiness and fulfillment, become much more easy than you could ever have imagined.
Yet the majority people come across this concept found at the idea of discovering what they vocation and purpose might be.
Yet there are simple questions that can help make it easier for you to grasp the nature of your purpose. Marc sets these out in his book: the first one of them is this – if you had won the lottery, and had millions and millions, all the money you could ever want or need, what would you do with that money? What kind of life would you have? What kind of person would you be?
Using the images and ideas that come to mind, you can then form affirmations which will reinforce your goals and objectives.
When I did this, I imagined winning $50 million. And with that I realized that my greatest objective would be to support people in some way: perhaps a network of support centers for deprived families, where food and counselling and emotional support was available. So at some level, my purpose is about helping people to achieve a better life, to escape deprivation.
When a friend did this exercise, they simply recited a list of things they would buy in places they would go – self-indulgent expenditure which feeds the ego. When I asked my friend if any of this would make him happy, he merely shrugged his shoulders and replied “I’d rather be rich and miserable than poor and miserable.”
I think it’s pretty clear from this that he hadn’t discovered his soul purpose or the vocation that would lead him on a path to living that purpose!
Yet as Marc says, every millionaire discovers that being a millionaire is not the important thing in life: the important thing in life is to live the life you dream of living, and to be the person you dream of being.
Without this spiritual background, people will quickly revert to type. Would it surprise you to learn that after two years 90% of lottery winners are back in exactly the same financial position as they were before they won the lottery?

That’s the product of creating wealth, or gaining wealth, without a spiritual purpose behind it. This kind of abundance does nothing but feed the ego, and while that might be satisfying for a while, it’s spiritually empty and ultimately futile.
And indeed, if at the end of the day you find that you still can’t identify purpose in life, then one possibility for you is to simply ask the universe to show you what that might be.
Make no mistake about it – this is fundamental to your existence. For when you know what your purpose is, you can then discover the means to achieve it.
Inside you, somewhere, waiting for its expression, or waiting for you to identify it, is your purpose in vocation. And within that lies the key to your deepest fulfillment, and in that lies the key to your greatest success.
Philosophers and writers through the ages have made the observation that what the human mind can conceive and believe it can achieve – or, to put it another way, that you wouldn’t have your desires and aspirations, you wouldn’t have your goals and objectives, if you didn’t also have the means to achieve them.
That is one fundamental aspect of being human.
